A much-needed respite for the natural and cultural beauty enthusiasts amidst the COVID pandemic Assam Bengal Navigation announced three new shorter Brahmaputra and Ganges river luxury cruise itineraries specifically for Indian travellers who want to experience the natural and cultural beauty of the two majestic Himalayan rivers as they sail in the luxury of a boutique traditional riverboat.
In 2003, ABN marked India's first-ever long-distance river cruises. Ever since, they have been relentlessly committed to delivering unique, authentic voyages experienced in relative luxury on two of the Indian Subcontinent's greatest rivers. From interiors to food, from their service to the people you'll meet, the ABN experience has been thoughtfully designed to champion local, minimise our impact on the environment, and build connections with the community.
Antara Phookan, Director, ABN, stated, ABN is introducing two short Brahmaputra River cruise itineraries – ‘Brahmaputra River Vignettes’ - a three-night cruise from Guwahati to Silghat aboard the vessel ABN Charaidew II. And ‘Dancing Monks & Riverine Culture’ a 4-night cruise from Silghat to Neamati on the same vessel that also introduces you to the monastic culture of Majuli River Island.
These two short river itineraries shall make even a better holiday if clubbed with a wildlife encounter of the Kaziranga National Park and a stay at their safari eco-lodge – the Diphlu River Lodge. On the lower Ganges, the Hooghly river itinerary ‘Bengal Memories’ will be launched, which will be a 3-night introduction to the historic colonial charm of Bengal.”
The first cruise will start on 3rd December and the second one on 29th December.
Alternatively, ABN’s new 3-night cruising itinerary, the ‘Bengal Memories’ covering Kolkata-Mayapur-Kolkata aboard the vessel ABN Rajmahal, will start from 13th November, followed by 17th November, 21st November, 11th December, 15th December, 23rd December and 30th December.
